We have a new Lyrical class starting with Alicia soon and also have two very talented dancers giving workshops here at Crossover!

Rayla – Dancehall Workshop – Tuesday 21st July 8:15pm ($10 WORKSHOP)
Do you know what is Dancehall?
The Dancehall emerged in Jamaica and it is not only the name of a dance style is a culture and lifestyle, as has hip hop dance and african influences. The beat is all done in the setback, does not follow the common pace is a little faster. Knees are another differential, they should be more bent, because the dance is all held closer to the ground. Dancehall is Feeling, Energy, Attitude and Representation. The classes have a lot of energy as the music demands it.

Fanny – Heels Workshop – Saturday 25th July 5pm ($10 WORKSHOP)
Hey! Im Fanny, 24, from Lucerne, Switzerland.
I am a heels specialist with a strong lyrical and jazz-funk background. My classes are provocative and full of sex-appeal. So my ultimate goal is to provide a safe, non-judgemental, confidence building environment where we can bust out our stupendous, jaw-dropping dance moves and leave class feeling hotter than Venus!

New 6 Week Absolute Beginners Dance Courses – First class FREE for new students!

Crossover is starting it’s new term of 6 week absolute beginners courses. Are you a new dancer who wants to start out in a fun, approachable class with similar level students? Do you want to pick up a new style and start with the basics? How about know some friends who are interested and want to give it a go?
Then these classes are for you! With courses in a range of styles, check it out and see if there’s something you’ve always wanted to try.

Also if you are new to Crossover and have not taken a class her before, you are eligible for the first class of your chosen course FREE.
All you need to do is register your name and interest in a course at info@crossoverdance.com. This is a great, easy and free way to introduce your friends to the joy of dance!

So look below for the courses and times, let a friend know and let’s start people off to enjoying dance!

Each course is $69 for 6 consecutive weeks from the start date.
New students to XO are eligible for their first class free to try if they email info@crossoverdance.com with their name and which course they want to try. They then have the option of paying $59 for the remainder of the course.
Course will only go ahead if there are enough students enrolled. Students cannot extend the course dates.

Every year we see some of XO’s best dancers and students perform on the stage, but now in it’s 5th year we’re UPing the level to make the greatest show we have ever produced and celebrate what we love : Dance!

Crossover Dance Studios Presents Dancing Through Time! Join us as we take you on a journey through the evolution of street dance. This performance will showcase the work of some of the best local street dancers from all over Sydney who have prepared pieces that evoke the time and style of the last 4 decades. Enjoy the history of dance as we travel through 80’s breakbeats and funk, 90’s hip hop and rnb, 00’s pop and commercial all the way up to now! Featuring the instructors and students of Crossover Dance Studios, come celebrate, remember and enjoy music and dance throughout time. UPSTAGED is back, bigger and better than ever! Enjoy Dance!

UPSTAGED INFORMATION UPDATE- COURSES & PERFORMANCE CLASSES

The theme for Upstaged this year is DANCING THROUGH TIME! This means each performance will be themed to a decade from the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, or NOW.

There is an awesome story brewing to join all of these together to make an awesome performance piece entertaining to watch and fun to perform in!

Performance courses and classes are starting from the beginning of April. Further info available at Reception.

CLASS (pays in class week to week)
COURSE (pays course fee of $110 for 8 hours course, payable upfront at first session)

ALL STUDENTS pay a SHOWCASE FEE of $50 (payable by April 30th at reception)
This includes your ticket to watch, a show t-shirt, and contributes to the cost of putting on the show.

Kpop Summit 2015 Episode 1!

Welcome to 2015 and welcome again to Kpop Summit! Kpop Summit is the largest fan run kpop cover event in Sydney featuring 100’s of dancers, singers and musicians showcasing the Sydney kpop community as we celebrate kpop dance and kpop music! With more and more people joining our community, we’re proud to once again be presenting 2 shows full of the kpop that you love!

Sydney’s best crews will all be there performing live with mainstays IJGK’d, Zisspop, Sixx, Aura, Triple C, Re%, Soul Sistarz, xoK, HSCUL8R and more. Joining them will be a host of crews from throughout Sydney who have worked hard and trained harder to put together performances celebrating your favorite kpop acts! Once again due to you awesome fans, each show features and entire different set of acts!

As always we are also going to be holding some awesome kpop games with some great prizes from our sponsors at the event. This year we are hoping to include a kpop cosplay section as a kpop freestyle battle! We’re still working things out but there will be awesome prizes up for some lucky fans to win!
