UPstaged 2014!
It’s time again for you guys to own the stage, celebrate dance and show your stuff for UPstaged 2014! This year we are aiming to make it a bigger, better show than ever before, but to do that we’re switching up the format a bit. This year UPstaged pieces will be taught in individual showcase workshop courses held outside of class times. Instructors will be collaborating with each other to produce dance pieces to showcase their style. The production will also be unified by a theme which will run throughout the entire show – “Why do we dance?” Each piece will embody the meaning of this phrase and show everyone what makes each of us dance.
We are aiming to create a showcase of higher level than ever before, so to achieve this, some classes will be holding auditions to be part of their performance. This doesn’t mean that you need to be a pro dancer to be involved, but you must show your instructors that you’re willing to work hard, train hard and commit to creating an awesome performance. To give you a taste of what they have in store, next week in their normal class, they will be teaching a part of their showcase routine. If you’d like to be part of their course, make sure to come to their classes next week and find out what they are going to do! We are only going to do 2 showcases of each style for this show, so make sure to join up the ones that you want!
We are also going to be using an all new venue for this year’s show with higher quality lighting, sound and stage. This venue is secret for now, but it’s close to XO and in an amazing location. The date of the show will be Sunday the 25th of May.

Instructors will combine to make one 5 minute length performance piece. Please come to instructors classes from the week 14th April to find out what routine they are doing and when their course time is!

UPstaged Courses
5 week performance courses to perform at UPstaged.
From 19th April – perform on 25th May.
Student Showcase Course fee is $160 which includes 10 hours of classes in course rehearsal, day stage rehearsal, showcase fee, entry to show, event t-shirt, video and photography and after party.
Each extra course after the fist one costs $120 for 10 house of classes in course
There may be an audition process to enter some people’s courses. Your instructor will have more information.

Courses start from Saturday 19th April and run for 5 weeks, 2 hours per week.
